And now a message from the President:

Hi all!

Has everyone taken a look at our website?  http://www.harlequinstheatre.com?  Jim Ohlemacher and Marc are doing a fantastic job in shaping it up!  Many of you may have gotten an e-mail from me about this, but I know some of you only get this newsletter, so it's worth repeating (and we don't want to leave anyone out).  Which reminds me - several members of Harlequins will be at "Goodnight Gracie" at the State Theatre thanks to Tami organizing ticket sales, and on November 16th about 15 of us will be attending "Don't Hug Me" at the Garden Dinner Theatre in Port Clinton thanks to Angie and myself.  If you didn't hear about these outside gatherings, let me know and I'll make sure you're on my e-mail list. Or, tell me that you need to be called and give me your phone number, so you don't miss out.  Sometimes we just find things to do and hang out.  We always find a way to have  good time.  Speaking of... by the time you receive this "Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and Grille" should be in full swing, so get your tickets now!  And don't forget to come down on Sunday, November 4th for cake and mingling with our patrons.   See you at the show.

"The Queen"

(hey, I don't start these nicknames - you do!) :-)

Tis the Season!

I know nobody wants to think about it, but Christmas and Harlequins Christmas party is right around the corner!  We are in need of several people to be a part of the Christmas committee.  It should be pretty easy this year since the date of December 15th has already been set and the entertainment has already been booked - the Keynotes.  So, basically we need a few people to set up, decorate and clean up.  Please let Lori know if you would be willing and also if you'd like to be the chair as that is always needed in order to keep a committee going.  Hey, if you always have fun at our Christmas party, you might want to consider volunteering - we wouldn't want to have to cancel it!

If anyone would like any information put on the website please sent it to
Jim Ohlemacher at JCOhle@landolls.com

he will then send it off to Marc, our webmaster

We are trying to cut postage costs for the newsletter and would like to know if anyone receiving the newsletter would prefer to get it by e-mail instead of snail mail.

If so, please let Ellie know –

her e-mail address is: estuck@monroeville.k12.oh.us  If that's not your thing we still don't mind sending it by regular mail since we do want everyone to receive it and know what's going on.

 Thanks.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We now have directors for the entire season!  Ron Abbott will be directing "Piece of My Heart" and Marilyn Forster will be directing "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" along with Kathy Beatty and Deb Presser as co-musical directors.  If you'd like to help them in anyway with their respective plays - let them know!

Port Clinton Playmakers presents: "Ladies of Harmony" November 8,9,10,ll & 15,16,17,18, 2007.  Sunday shows (Nov. 11 and 18) will begin at 2:00 p.m.  The remaining shows will begin at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, October 20th, Kathleen (Hoffman) Meade came back to Sandusky to give a "set painting" workshop for Harlequins members.  The Merry-Go-Round Museum graciously provided us with a large room for the workshop.  Kathleen covered various texturizing techniques including brick, stone, wood, wall paper and....how to make a real mess all over yourself in the process. (Anything for the "art")  I video-taped the workshop and as soon as I can figure out how (or find someone who has the capability), I'll put it onto a DVD.  Then we can start a collection in our archives for future reference.  Those of us who attended had a great time. (even those in the "peanut gallery"...you know who you are!)  One thing I can say about Harlequins members, we know how to have FUN!

Jim

Your Attention Please...

We now have a playreading committee, and we are asking anyone who has a specific play in mind that they might like to direct to bring it to the attention of the playreading committee - in fact submit several plays you might like to direct so there are several choices.  Also, even if you don't want to direct, but you would like them to read a play you have in mind, let them know.  The chairperson of the committee is Jennifer Wertz.

Speaking of a chairperson  the Capital Improvements Committee is in need of a chairperson.  There are a lot of things they have begun but some leadership and direction is needed to get them over the hump it seems.  Several projects are currently being worked on including getting new curtains for the stage.  If you'd be interested let Lori or someone on the Capital Improvements committee know (some of the committee are: Deb Presser, Bob Jacobs, Steve Wetzel, and Nate Fuller).

OCTA & You...A Love Story

With the fleeing of both Dennis and Terry we are in need of an OCTA representative.  I believe there is some travel involved for meetings and such, but it's a great organization for us to be involved with and we have such fun at the regional and state competitions!  If you're interested, please let Lori know - she has a packet that will supposedly let you in on what OCTA is all about.
