President’s Message

Happy New Year to All!

Hope everyone who could make the Christmas party had a wonderful time!  The snow kind of kept some people from us - actually quite a few people from those I've talked to who had planned to come but, then at the last minute, didn't want to travel in the snow... maybe we should have our Christmas party when the weather's better? 

There's always the newly minted annual Spring Fling party - although in this part of the country it still doesn't mean we won't be having snow.  No date has been set for this yet, but I think there's wheels turning in the minds of the membership committee to outdo themselves from last year.

First order of business is to get a crew for "A Piece of My Heart" - from what I hear rehearsals will be Mon, Tues. and Thurs. at 7:00 p.m.  For those of you who volunteer to be crew, you probably won't have to start showing up until the end of January - volunteer now!  Don't wait or all the good crew spots will be taken!  Who am I kidding, they're all good spots - there's a great cast in place so I'm expecting there will be a lot of fun and hijinks for this play... but that's what we're here for - to have fun!

We would like to thank the Christmas committee and some other helper elves for stepping up and putting on a very wonderful Christmas party. 

 We know some of you couldn't show because of the snow but we had a wonderful time and the Keynotes were fantastic!

  Thanks to Jim, Ann Marie, George, Bob, Nate, Bart, Sudsy and Shelly!  Sorry if I forgot anyone but I can't know everything even though people think I do :-)

I’ve Got Dates to remember…

January 9 - 7 p.m. general meeting - I'm working on having entertainment for this one - a little coaxing is being done right at this very moment! 

January 23 - 7 p.m. board meeting

Some Sundays in January - a lighting team will be helping set lights - those who were a part of the lighting workshop are more than welcome to come and help - more info may be available on the website as time gets closer and/or we may also try the phone tree as well.

February 2 - 10:00 a.m. will be Clean-Up Saturday - come help out - our actors kiss the mirrors so much they need cleaning ;-)

February 3 - Tech Sunday

February 5 - 8:15 p.m. - Press Dress - come see the show!

February 7 - 8:15 p.m. - Opening Night for "A Piece of My Heart" - tell all your friends!... and some strangers too!

Lend a Hand!           

Start thinking about being an usher or helping out on the reservation desk for "A Piece of My Heart" - then when you're done thinkin'  - tell someone you'd like to help!  Thanks.

Also, think fast on helping out with "A Piece of My Heart" - Ron could use an assistant director, someone to run lights, someone to run sound, a stage manager, a set will be built soon, and probably all sorts of other things I can't think of at the moment... CONTACT SOMEONE!  Thanks.
