And now a message from the President:
Hi
All!
For those of you who
have been looking to read scripts, I haven't forgotten about you; we
just haven't received the scripts yet and are currently trying to hunt
them down and find out where they went... we ordered some so we could
have many people reading them at once. We are still in need of
directors if you have the credentials and would like to volunteer...
again, we'll get you a script as soon as possible.
Keep your eye on the
calendar on the website (if you can) for more upcoming workshops. We
will also make sure they are listed in the newsletter as well. The next
workshop is Sun. Sept. 9th and will be on how to run the light board...
space is limited for this one as Lisa would like everyone to be "hands
on" so if you'd like to come to it please contact her ASAP and reserve
your space. There's a tentative set painting workshop set for Oct. 20th
at the Merry Go Round museum (we don't want to interfere with building
set)... and there's something in the works for a makeup workshop in
November (after the play closes)... we'll keep you informed as things
firm up.
Hope to see you all at
the Boitels on Aug. 25th... you should be getting your formal invitation
soon!

We Want
You...To Direct a Play This Season!
We
have wonderful plays we have chosen, now we are looking for wonderful
directors! If you would be interested in directing any of this season's
plays, please contact Lori or some other board member. In case you
haven't heard they are: Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and
Grill, A Piece of My Heart and All I Really Need to Know
I Learned in Kindergarten.
For Your Information...
For those of you who
don't know, the Cincinnati Costume Company had a tragic fire recently
and lost much of their inventory. Vesta Guss owns the Sandusky store of
the Cincinnati Costume Company (they are still in business and hope to
continue that way; however, they need some help)... Karen Mears put out
this information on the website, but I wanted to pass it along in the
newsletter to reach more people:
"Well the decision of
the Sandusky crew...though trying not to have survivors guilt...is that
we want to continue! Caren is just devastated and has so much to deal
with we want to take our aspect of the business off her shoulders. Our
hope is to stay open for the next year on our own, continue to build, so
that next year after all the mess is settled and Caren has had some time
off and away--she can then make a less emotional decision to continue or
not. So Vesta and I would like to set up a booth at OCTA, and get the
word out for donations. If any one would like to help us with this OCTA
project let me know, even if you could just help man the booth that
weekend all is appreciated.
Also anyone who sews and
would be willing to donate some time taking a bundle home to assemble,
let us know. There is enough to be rebuilt that we can vary the project
per skill level. Thanks for all your support!"
